Receipts reads page text locally to match supported congressional names. It does not send page text, URLs, browsing history, or search queries to a server. It has no analytics, advertising, accounts, or remote code.
Opening the extension provides temporary tab access. “Find receipts on this page” starts the local scan. The popup reads the current URL to show the site and scope its optional access request. “Always on this site” asks for persistent access to that hostname and scheme, across all ports supported by the Chrome match pattern. Turning it off stops the current tab and removes its registration and site grant. Reload other open pages on that site to stop existing scans. You can also revoke access in Chrome and reload affected pages. Chrome retains site grants and script registrations. The extension does not use a separate storage database.
Page text and matches stay in the page session. Search text stays in the popup session. Member lookup and candidate comparison use bundled records. Their local page URLs include the selected member identifier. Public portraits are bundled, not fetched from a remote server during use. Portraits and the local comparison page are accessible to ordinary web pages so injected cards can use them. They contain no page text or search text. Opening an FEC or Senate source link visits that website, where its privacy policy applies. No remote lookup occurs when you hover a name.
A number needs a definition.
Amounts come from the FEC 2026 all-candidates bulk file. The roster comes from the CC0 congress-legislators project. Each card shows its reporting period and snapshot date. Roster data can lag changes in office. Name matches can be wrong; check the state and office.
“Other political committees” is an FEC category. It does not isolate corporate PACs, lobbyists, or outside spending. A zero means zero reported in that category and period. It does not certify that a politician refuses lobbyist money.
Total receipts can include loans and transfers. Contributions do not necessarily sum to receipts. Authorized committee transfers can double-count funds in raw totals. Receipts are campaign funds, not personal income.
The extension card shows the reported amount from other political committees. Positive amounts and reported zero use the same accent color. Labels distinguish these states; unavailable or net negative amounts use a muted color. These states apply equally to every party. The card design and barcode do not encode an integrity grade. Expand “Money breakdown & sources” for the other categories and definitions. Dollar amounts with absolute values of $1 or more are rounded to whole dollars. Nonzero amounts below $1 show cents. Committee share is other political committee contributions divided by the sum of individual, other political committee, and party committee contributions. Missing or negative categories, or a zero denominator, make this share unavailable. Positive shares below 1% display as <1%; other shares round to a whole percent.
The comparison page uses FEC-registered candidates for the same seat and 2026 election year. Registrations can include primary and withdrawn candidates. They do not confirm ballot status, nomination, or a continuing campaign. The page shows each campaign period and warns when periods differ or a report is missing. Ambiguous seat matches are withheld. Regular Senate seats not up this cycle have no comparison. Three member records include official committee responsibilities and jurisdiction. This context does not establish that campaign funds caused a policy decision.
Web profile evidence review.
The web profile headlines total reported receipts, not total donations or personal income. Donor-size and lobbyist splits are unavailable. Its historical records cover one selected House roll call (July 3, 2025) and one selected Pelosi investment report (filed January 17, 2025). Every investment in that report belongs to the spouse; reported ranges are not exact prices or current holdings. No Senate voting history or complete investment history is included; later reports and amendments are not reconciled. Missing coverage is not evidence of no activity.
Votes are joined by exact Bioguide ID, chamber and state. The selected disclosure is matched by official filer, district and document ID and manually verified against both PDF pages. Each record retains its own date and direct official source. No prediction, causal relationship, motive or misconduct score is inferred. Selected House roll call · Selected official disclosure.
Limited Use.
Receipts uses information obtained through Chrome permissions only for its disclosed campaign finance lookup feature. This use complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The publisher cannot read the local page text, does not sell it, and does not use it for advertising or profiling.
Website and extension.
The website loads public records from receipts.mhaider.dev. The hosting provider receives ordinary web requests, including your IP address and the requested page. Search filtering runs in your browser. The website has no analytics or advertising. The Chrome extension remains unpublished. Report a problem on GitHub.
